Kathy Keatley Garvey is a longtime journalist, newspaper editor, photographer and Web specialist. She holds two degrees in communications and journalism from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications, Washington State University, Pullman, Wash. An employee of the University of California, Davis since July 1986, she began her UC career as assistant director/senior writer of the UC Davis School of Medicine's News and Communications, serving there for nearly 10 years, and later with the UC Integrated Pest Management Program, where she co-authored the book, Aquatic Pest Control.
