The UC Mosquito Research Program, headquartered at 396 Briggs Hall, Department of Entomology, University of California, Davis, is a statewide special
program within the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources. It is a multicampus program for stimulation
and support of research among the various academic departments and research
organizations in the biology and control of mosquitoes and other vectors
and vector-borne diseases.
The UCMRP administers a competitive, peer-reviewed grant program. In addition, the program assists UC researchers in the preparation, submission and administration of research grant proposals to funding agencies outside the UC system. The main purpose of this research is to develop information, materials and techniques to assist state and local agencies in protecting the citizens of California from mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases.
